Woolworths, TCS extend partnership

Woolworths Group and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have expanded their partnership to provide IT and digital services, including establishing DevOps teams, to enable faster time to market and respond to the dynamic needs of the business.

The expanded partnership will see TCS leveraging its global scale and investments to drive cloud adoption, evolution of data platforms to support deeper business analytics and insights, cybersecurity efforts, and other key digital initiatives in Woolworths’ growth and transformation agenda. TCS will also embed Agile/DevOps into the ways of working and establish mature DevOps practices and tool chains across multiple systems. TCS will also drive enhanced operational resilience through the usage of ignio, its cognitive automation software, as well as other automation tools and the establishment of a reliability services team.

TCS has been Woolworths’ strategic partner for over 20 years and has been involved in several transformation initiatives across the retail value chain, including an SAP implementation and rollout, range and space optimisation, supply chain programs, stores transformation and digital initiatives. John Hunt, Chief Information Officer of the Woolworths Group, said TCS continues to be a strategic partner in helping Woolworths in its growth and transformation agenda, as it reimagines its customer and team member experience and embarks on the next era of growth.
